Scalp and Hair Loss Micropigmentation

(commonly referred to as SMP)

Scalp Micropigmentation treatment for dense hair appearance

At neuü, we specialise in helping you feel confident in your skin. It could be hair loss in an area, thinning hair, a receding hairline or scarring, scalp micropigmentation offers a precise and highly effective solution to restore the appearance of hair and boost confidence. We understand how personal your hair loss concerns can be – both neuü Co-Founders have lived experience of hair loss. Peter’s hair started to recede in his early twenties and he spent years worried about his hair loss and Emma temporarily lost her hair through chemotherapy.

Using advanced techniques and state-of-the-art equipment, pigments are carefully implanted into the dermal layer of the skin, replicating the natural appearance of hair. Each treatment is meticulously tailored to you, ensuring natural, subtle results that enhance your confidence and sense of self.

We will always prioritise your comfort at every stage, from an in-depth consultation to a gentle, detail-focused treatment plan designed to suit your unique skin tone and natural hair line. Your treatment plan may also include Skin Microneedling to help reduce the appearance of scalp scars before work is done to introduce colour pigment

We understand that some clients may feel apprehensive or nervous about needles or want more information before deciding to proceed. Your comfort and confidence are our top priorities. We are happy to arrange a consultation to discuss your concerns, answer any questions and walk you through the process step by step. We also have various techniques to ensure your experience is as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

  • boost scalp hair density for men and women: create the appearance of thicker, fuller hair with expertly placed pigmentation, ideal for those with thinning hair

  • enhance beard density: achieve a fuller, more defined beard by filling in sparse areas with precision-applied pigmentation that mimics natural hair growth.

Frequently Asked Questions about Scalp and Hair Loss Micropigmentation (SMP)

  • To undergo micropigmentation, you must be over 18 years of age and not currently pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are susceptible to keloid scarring, micropigmentation may not be advisable. A free consultation is available to assess your individual needs and ensure the treatment is suitable for you. This session allows us to answer any questions, discuss your goals and customise a plan tailored to your requirements.

  • Discomfort levels vary depending on the area being treated and individual sensitivity – everyone has different pain thresholds. Most clients describe the sensation as a mild scratching sensation and tolerable for the treatment.

  • Micropigmentation is considered semi-permanent and may last approximately 3 – 5 years, colour top-ups are recommended. Colour may fade due to a number of factors, including sun exposure, skin types, medication, use of creams and lotions, smoking, alcohol intake, illness and exposure to chlorine in swimming pools.

  • Micropigmentation is never a one treatment process, the number of treatments will depend on your skin, your healing and care of the area. Most scalp micropigmentation clients will require up to 4 sessions, spaced several weeks apart, to allow for proper healing, colour adjustment and need to add density over time. During your consultation, we’ll create a personalised treatment plan and discuss the expected number of sessions based on your goals. Maintenance sessions may also be recommended over time to keep your results looking fresh and natural.

  • Pricing varies depending on the size and complexity of the scalp area of being treated, prices start from £200 per session. To provide an accurate quote, we need to assess the area and evaluate your specific needs. Detailed quotes are available following your consultation.

  • Aftercare is essential for optimal results and you will receive detailed aftercare instructions to ensure the best outcome. You may experience some swelling or redness for up to 48 hours after your treatment, we recommend keeping the area dry, and to avoid sun exposure, swimming, saunas and harsh skincare products during the healing process.

  • Side effects are usually minimal and may include slight redness or swelling after the procedure for up to 48 hours. Rarely, individuals may experience an allergic reaction to the pigments, which is why a patch test is required before treatment.

  • We understand that needle anxiety is a common concern, and we’re here to help make the experience as comfortable as possible. To ease your mind, we can guide you through relaxing breathing exercises, show you the needle and machine beforehand if you wish, and even offer a calming massage before your treatment to help you relax. Our goal is to create a supportive and stress-free environment, ensuring you feel at ease every step of the way.
